Sign of Better things to Come
This week has been noteworthy for the Indian diamond trade for many reasons. The diamond trade seems to be steadily bouncing back and we have clearly understood how to maneuver through tough times, how ever hard it might be.

We have recorded a staggering $1.1 billion in exports this November, a 92 per cent increase from the same month last year according to the GJEPC. If this doesn’t give us hope, then what will?

In a landmark move, the Bharat Diamond Bourse will soon allow trading of lab-grown diamonds within its premises. The robust demand of lab-grown diamonds and the fact that many natural diamond companies want to diversify into this segment has led to this decision. However, this will only come into play with strict rules in place, breaching of such rules will lead in penalty and cancellation of membership.
